ABOUT RAYMOND.
Some artists write songs. Raymond writes stories. Raymond’s music explores love, faith, regret, hope, and the quiet weight of becoming who you're meant to be. Still early in his journey, Raymond is carving out a sound that's unmistakably his own. Less interested in chasing trends and more committed to writing songs that matter, he is quickly building a reputation as an artist worth paying attention to.
Raymond is an Australian country singer-songwriter with a heart for honest stories and timeless country music. His love for the genre began when he moved to Australia at five years old, listening to his dad play artists like Merle Haggard, Randy Travis, Jimmy Swaggart, and Alan Jackson. Those songs became the soundtrack of his childhood, and before long he was singing every word, falling in love with the storytelling and truth that country music carried.
Growing up as a Samoan, Raymond always felt drawn to the country life. He worked with cattle whenever he had the chance and was always eager to learn the life of a farmer. At just eight and nine years old, he spent long days working in the fields alongside his mum under the hot Australian sun, doing whatever needed to be done to help put food on the table. His parents, who were raised working in plantation fields, taught him that nothing worthwhile comes without hard work, humility, and perseverance - values that continue to guide his life today. Those early years left a lasting mark on the way Raymond writes music.
To Raymond, country music has never been about chasing attention or simply entertaining a crowd. It’s about telling the stories of everyday people - the workers, the families, the battlers, and the ones who quietly carry life’s burdens. Inspired by his faith, his upbringing, and the people he’s met along the way, Raymond writes songs that are honest, relatable, and rooted in real life. His hope is that every listener hears a piece of their own story and walks away feeling seen, heard, and reminded they’re never alone.
